Short Term Student Visa

‘Short-term student visas’ are designed for individuals who plan to undertake courses in the UK that last for a maximum of six months or English language programs lasting up to 11 months. Students holding a ‘short-term visa’ are granted permission to remain in the UK for the duration of their course, with an additional 30-day period, provided that their stay does not exceed a total of 11 months.

The cost of a Short-term study visa is £186, and applicants are also required to pay a healthcare surcharge of £470 as part of the online application fees for the visa. It is important to note that students under a short-term visa are subject to specific limitations and restrictions, which include the following:

● A student cannot change or switch his course while in the UK.
● The student cannot study at a state-funded school
● The student will not be permitted to work under a short-term visa. (This includes paid or unpaid work, work experience or work placements)
● A short-term visa cannot be extended.
● Students cannot bring ‘dependents’ with them on this visa.
